OUGD404 - Collages for Book Covers

I have produced three collages, one for each of the book covers.

Daddy Long Legs:



I have taken a very literal approach to this book cover and chosen to create a literal 'daddy long legs'. I wanted to work with vintage style imagery and have chosen a picture of a typical father-like man and used this as the main focus. Barbie doll legs are spanning from his head, a play on the typical Daddy Long-Legs spider. Beneath him are 4 children, again in a vintage style - this represents his own offspring, the man above is their 'daddy'.


Alice in Wonderland:


For this collage I have used my prior knowledge of Alice in Wonderland. I have taken key elements from the story such as the 'eat me' cake, the tea cup and the key and implemented them within the mash-up design.


Animal Farm:



Again I have taken a very literal approach to this design and used pictures of farm animals along with a tractor in order to represent the book title. I have place the goat's head on a horses body in order to create a fun and 'wacky' feel, very similar to the book and author itself.
