OUGD603 - Roald Dahl - Spaghetti Initial Designs

To kick start my initial design process, I began looking at a variety of different typefaces to use on the packaging.

I looked at a few different dynamic/fun typefaces, reminiscent of spaghetti/worms:



I was also thinking about a scribble/scrawl style as graphics to go alongside the text;



I started playing around with different typefaces alongside the scrawl graphics;



One particular typeface stood out to me - Striverx. It had a rough, scrawled vibe to it that I felt was really relevant for the spaghetti/worms.

I started playing around with a muddy pink colour, to represent the worms;



I also looked at some scrawled circles, potentially to frame the text;




I was immediately drawn to the yellow/pink combination -



The pink text really popped against the yellow spaghetti, and alluded to both the pasta and the worms.
