OUGD503 - Responsive - MBTW - Circular Designs

After I had settled on the logotype I wanted to move forward with, I started thinking about different ways I could present it, like inside a shape.

I felt a circle would add a nice touch as it would allude to the tree trunks within the wood craft business.

I started playing around with the logotype inside the circle, initially looking at having the flick of the 'W' attached to the edge of the circle to add a fluidity and continuation to the design.

I experimented with different weights to the circle to see how it would change the design.

I also looked at incorporating the tree silhouettes within the circle and used the Pathfinder tool to 'cut out' the trees from the circle. I layered the text on top of this but felt it looked messy and unfinished.

As an alternative I tried arranging the trees so that they fit inside the circle which I think definitely worked better. The third design was my favourite, with the green outline and white text. I felt this looked the most effective and the most contemporary.
