I have begun some research into type specimens to help inform what will be my final outcome for this brief.
Fontsmith produce some really interesting type specimens and I have been using these as my main inspiration within my own work. See below for FS Emeric type specimen images.
I really like this particular type specimen as you can see the font demonstrated in many different ways, for example on packaging. The font is also shown in a variety of different sizes so you can get a 'closer look' as such at the finer details. I also like the colour scheme as it is pleasing on the eye without being too much by using more neutral colours.
See below images of FS Matthew. This is also a really interesting example and I really like the basic simplicity of it. No colours are used which keeps it very neutral whilst still having an impact. There is not as much information included as on the previous specimen but I do not think this has a detrimental effect on the specimen as a whole.
