To kick-start our initial design process, we started looking at basic poster layouts and the information we wanted to include.
We wanted to focus on the different signs and symptoms that come with autism, and raise awareness of these to adults, parents in particular.
We started with a basic sans-serif typeface, Futura Italic, as this was a clear and simple typeface to display important information.
We initially started playing aroung with white text on a dark blue background, and began to experiment with different pieces of information and the layout of them.

*text not central enough

*better layout

*text a bit small?
We felt that the posters perhaps looked a bit too flat, so we started experimenting with a gradient style background. The idea behind this was that it represents the 'wide spectrum' of autism - relating it to a rainbow.

*alternate colourway

*subtle gradient
