OUGD503 - Responsive - KFC Brief - Application to Bucket

After creating the collages, I started thinking about ways I could apply them to the cutter of the bucket. The template was bent at an almost semi-circular angle to demonstrate how it would 'wrap' around the actual bucket shape, so I was unsure whether to work with this angle or not.

I started by simply placing the collages onto the bucket in an upright manner. This allowed for full coverage of the template with no white areas/empty space. The KFC logo became hard to read against the busy background and blended in with the black and white colours.

I tried a slightly different layout with different images but I was having the same problem each time.

After a group crit, I receieved some feedback advising me to remove the backgrounds from the images in order to leave some white space for the other graphics to be visible.

I started using Photoshop to mask around the images and remove the backgrounds.

Placing them onto the bucket was a lot easier and I chose to work with the angle of the template when applying the images.

The KFC logo and other text was instantly a lot easier to see/read with the backgrounds removed and the whole design of the bucket seemed a lot more 'breathable'.
