I have looked at two different books in order to analyse the different ways publications are produced and created.
BOOK 1
'Book of Ideas' - Radim Malinic

Cover:
-Hot foil blocking
-Waxy finish
-Minimalist sans-serif font
-Vivid, deep colour
Pages:
-Matte paper - 100-110gsm
-Strong, bold, capitalized text - similar to Bebas Neue - combined with light, thin, small text - could be Helvetica
-Different coloured pages
-Consistent house style - same layout - text on left, image on right
-Column, modular grid style
Binding:
-Glued together
BOOK 2
'The Move' by Tom Armstrong (editor)


Cover:
-Matte cover - card - more than 200gsm
-Image - portrait and central
-Graphics used - 4 colours - white orange black red
-Logo/title - sans serif - manipulated - divided into 3 - cut up effect - lowercase - gives it a sense of movement
-Other text - uppercase sans serif, bold
-Based around central image
Binding:
-Glued together
Pages:
-100-130gsm
-Main typeface used - Bebas Neue
-Mixture of other fonts - sans-serif/serif/handwritten etc
-Grid layout - modular
-Red, black, white commonly used
-Photography based
-Lots of advertisements - back cover is one
